Tyler Shows Off His Good Side In London

Posted on May 29, 2013 by Bets in Appearances, News, Tyler 0

We at Tyler Heochlin Online always appreciate hearing how great Tyler is when interacting with fans, and the gushing over how sweet and polite and friendly he is came pouring in after his MCM London Comic Con appearance last weekend. Not that we expect Tyler to be anything but gracious, but it’s nice to hear good things from people, especially those who aren’t fans.

The following is a post found on tumblr (posted here with permission) that we wanted to share with everyone. It showcases one of the many reasons why we have this site and why we do what we can to promote Tyler and his career.

The Manners of Tyler Hoechlin and the Teen Wolf Fandom.

I wish to preface this with the fact that I have never seen an episode of Teen Wolf, nor do I intend to, though I have nothing against anyone with any degree of involvement with the series.

This weekend I had a short volunteer placement at MCM, London comic-con. This involved mostly crowd control, on Saturday I dealt with the queues for the photos and autographs. At the time of my shift, I was dealing largely with the Teen Wolf fans, and I must say that although a few of them were a little testy, for the most part they were courteous and understanding where I had to let them know that the cast were delayed and I had to reshuffle the queue. Certainly more so than I would have expected in my dealing with fans.

On Sunday, I was working an even busier shift. Main Stage. After a hectic shift in the timetable, cast arriving out of the blue and cutting a panel time in short, I was losing it quite quickly. I had been made to work beyond by allocated shift and at odds with my manager who was contradicting the orders I received from other staff. And then a most curious thing happened.

Controlling the entrance, I saw and interacted with a lot of people. In the middle of it all, three or four people walked past me, all with VIP badges. I now know they were part of the Teen Wolf cast. I also know that one of them was Tyler Hoechlin, through recognition by hindsight. If you’ve ever worked as a volunteer steward, you’ll know that the thanks you receive is close to none. You don’t go in expecting to be thanked, else you’re going to have a shit time. However, Mr. Hoechlin made deliberate eye contact with me, and after seeing my steward badge nodded with admittedly a very charming smile and said his single word of thanks. Not knowing who he was, save for a VIP, I already felt very content to be simply noticed.

I must stress that given Mr. Hoechlin’s timetable for the day, which was incredibly stressful as I had accompanied many people to the signing booth where there were endless queues, giving a simple word of thanks is by no means something on the mind. However he gave me two seconds of his time to let me know that I was appreciated, and for that all my respect to him. An innumerable amount of people glanced over me, and weren’t exactly polite, however a celebrity, by all means, extended his manners to me and that touched my heart.

New Teen Wolf Season 3 Spoilers From London Con Panel

Posted on May 27, 2013 by Bets in News 0

Below is a transcription of the panel Q&A.

Question: If you could change the storyline for one character, who would it be and why?

Tyler Hoechlin: You guys like it how it is though right?

How do you feel about the rabid fangirls following the series?

Hoechlin: It’s flattering, you guys are what make the show work. We’re flattered and want to keep making the show for you guys as long as you want to keep watching it.

Will we be seeing more of Sterek in season 3?

Hoechlin: What’s Sterek? [loud screams from crowd] Derek and Styles still hang out yeah.

If you could be any other character in the show, who would that be and why?

Hoechlin: I would say Styles, as he makes me laugh…

What are the hardest scenes to shoot?

Hoechlin: I would say anything that involves water. When you see a scene where people get soaking wet for like two seconds – remember that lasted like eight hours.

Do you actually want Sterek to happen?

Hoechlin: I like Derek and Styles where they’re at, it’s a good love/hate thing.

How do your characters develop in season three and how do you feel about it.

Hoechlin: In the first season Derek was pretty focused on revenge, then in season two he thought he was really cool for some reason, being the alpha. Season three is a little humility for Derek – season two didn’t wind up too well for him, he’s in a lot of trouble. There are a lot of problems that Derek’s going to have to face going into season three, and he may just end up digging his hole deeper and deeper. The relationship with Scott is a little different this season too, it’s much more of a kind of brotherly, mutual admiration type thing, he’s found a respect for Scott so there’s a big difference in that relationship.

What is it like seeing yourselves turn into monsters?

Hoechlin: It’s a bit strange, but I had kind of a funny example this year. I have a friend on set who was going through something of a rough time, and I had the wolf makeup on. You try having a serious conversation with someone with all that on, and you kind of feel ridiculous. You feel like you’re not allowed to give advice.

Season 3 Spoilers

Posted on May 26, 2013 by Bets in News 0

The lucky folks at Zap2it got a sneak peek at the first two episodes of Season 3, and here is what they had to say regarding Derek:

3. Scott is on a self-improvement streak. “I’m going to be better this year. a better student, a better son, better friend, better everything,” he promises. And he’s on a roll — he’s reading books, working out, studying for the PSATs, and saving up for a motorcycle. There’s just one problem. In the four months since the finale, Derek hasn’t told Scott about the Alpha pack, determined to let Scott be a normal teenager. If he does realize what’s going on, he may be distracted from his book list.

4. Derek doesn’t live in his old ramshackle house anymore, because the county took it. But before he leaves it behind, he shares a meaningful scene with Scott and Stiles there. It’s a powerful moment that reveals a lot about Scott’s mindset right now…. and about what Derek endured to get the spiral tattoo on his back.

5. A very significant new character comes into play in the first minute of the premiere episode. She knows something important about Scott — and by the end of the first episode, she’ll be instrumental in revealing (to the audience) the Alpha pack’s goal, and how it connects to Scott and Derek.

7. When the season starts, Erica and Boyd have been missing for months, but Derek, Peter, and Isaac haven’t given up looking for them. The search nearly kills Isaac — and when he’s rescued, things don’t exactly improve for him. We’ll see Isaac go through some pretty horrific things in order to find the missing members of his pack. Not the least of which involves Peter’s fingernail-claws in his brain.

8. There’s plenty of Sterek interaction. This summer, we heard that Stiles and Derek don’t share many scenes in the first 12 episodes — but they definitely work together in the first two episodes, with their usual brand of banter and general (affectionate) annoyance with each other. We got a laugh out of it.
